"Taking the Lead" with Cindy Harrison

Taking the Lead, the May 25th workshop facilitated by Cindy Harrison was outstanding. The information was based on the new book written by Joellen Killion and Cindy Harrison titled Taking the Lead: New Roles for Teachers and School-based Coaches. Participants felt that the information was extremely valuable and that it was helpful to network with professionals from different districts. Some comments from participants included things like ...

• "The detailed description of different roles helped me a lot."
• "I don't have to be an expert in all roles; I can focus on a few and become excellent in them."
• "I'm not alone in my challenges."
• "All teachers are leaders."
• "How great it is to be able to name these roles and be aware of them for my own works."
• "I"m trying to do too much. I need to focus on what I can do to make the biggest impact."

Every attendee received a copy of the book (which includes a disc containing tools and IC maps in PDF format). It was a great way to start the Memorial Day weekend. Thanks again, Cindy! And thanks to those of you who were able to attend.
