"Taking the Lead"

Back by popular demand, once again CSDC was fortunate to be able to feature Cindy Harrison presenting information about functions of teacher leaders and school-based coaches, and the impact they can have on a school.  Content for the workshop was based on the new NSDC book, Taking the Lead: New Roles for Teachers and School-Based Coaches, co-authored by Joellen Killion and Cindy Harrison.

Every attendee received a copy of the book, which includes a disc containing tools and IC maps in PDF format.  Participants had the opportunity to learn new information, as well as network with colleagues.  

The format of the workshop allowed people to network with each other, as well as learn new information.  A few comments from participants included statements like the following:

• This helped to bring clarity to my understanding of my job as a coach.
• This workshop came just in time for me.
• The book will be an excellent resource for me. 
• I value Cindy's honest, expert approach and always learn new things from her.

Although both Joellen and Cindy were scheduled to present, Joellen’s father passed away recently and she was not able to be with us.  Our thoughts and prayers were certainly with Joellen.  Thanks again to Cindy for an excellent, informative morning.  And thanks to all of you who made time in your busy schedules to attend.
